The Miami Book Fair/de Groot Prize
for an Unpublished Novella
The Miami Book Fair, the nation’s finest and largest literary gathering has partnered with The de Groot Foundation to launch the Miami Book Fair/de Groot Prize. Our shared goal is to discover and encourage talented unpublished authors. The $6,000.00 prize and publication will be awarded for a novella, written by an author who has not previously had a book published. A novella is a work of fiction between 17,000-40,000 words. 2017 International Fine Art Photography Competition Winners at FotoFever 11/10-12 Carrousel du Louvre, Paris, France
Winners receive cash prizes and travel to Paris for an exhibit of their work at FotoFever November 10-12, 2017. All finalists’ work is accepted into the collection of the Bibliothèque nationale de France and featured in the IFAP on-line gallery and social media community.

DOC FEST ’17
Each year the students in the Documentary Program at Columbia Journalism School produce a weekend of documentary film. Doc Fest 16 showcased 17 films created by emerging filmmakers from around the globe. Their films explored issues of immigration, deportation, homelessness among female war veterans, wage theft and worker abuse, literacy, family impact of incarceration, transgender struggles and PTSD to the world of black classical ballet dancers, competitive yoga, an inside look at a political campaign and more.
