YES Akademia provides high-potential urban and rural youth from low-income communities with the leadership and social entrepreneurial skills and perspectives that enables them to affect positive change in their lives, communities, and global community. YES Akademia France trains around 500 youth between the ages of 15 and 30 each year, not just from Paris’ “banlieues” but also from other neighborhoods in Paris and the rural zones of Haïti, Senegal, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, and India.

Global Potential

Global Potential (GP) empowers youth across borders to turn challenges into opportunities, inspire action and build change. Their mission is to engage youth and communities around the world to energize each other through education, international service learning, social entrepreneurship and cultural exchange.

In partnership with over 20 high schools and youth empowerment organizations, Global Potential (GP) has worked with more than 3000 youth, aged 15 to 30 years old in disadvantaged areas of Paris, New York and Boston, with the safe space, personal mentoring, and hands-on skills they need to tap into their talents, improve their life trajectories, and drive positive change in their communities. An additional 600 youth participate annually in GP’s conferences and youth workshops.

Global Potential Youth Programs

Using a leadership curriculum developed in collaboration with Teachers College-Columbia University, GP supports the personal development and educational success of high-potential youth. The data demonstrates GPs success: 100% of GP alumni graduate from high school and 85% attend college–a significant increase compared to their peers.
